Biography: Nick Shim

Nick is a Brigton based electronic music composer/producer, sound designer and programmer.

Growing up with the beat-lead sounds of disco and funk during the early eighties, Nick formed a deep and lasting connection with electronic music during the heady days of Acid House and Detroit techno. Inspired by these sounds, he co-formed an electronic pop act, fusing the then current dance trends with traditional songwriting values; They wrote and produced over 40 tracks before disbanding.

During this time he studied sound engineering and music production intensively at the School of Audio Engineering in North London, and collaborated on music for several TV ads.

He has since worked on various dance music projects, most notably the World of Trouser clubnite in 1999/2000. They played a residency of nine dates at the Annexe in London W1 before the venue closed for rebranding.
