30/08/2004; Notting Hill Carnival

Wow! It's been three years scince I last went to NHC, and I guess my expectations were quite low. But one can of Red Stripe and a polystyrine bowl of chicken and rice and peas and I was away, my Caribbean genes going off big time with all the reggae and soca being played. Emma enjoyed it too, which surprised me as I thought I was going to be dragging her around reluctantly - not so!

In any case, despite a touch of rain mid-afternoon, it was pretty much as good (if not better) than I remember... makes me pine for home!
