14/02/2005; Untouched by the scourge of JPEG compression...

Been putting my new Nikon camera through it's paces today, I have to admit I'm SUPER impressed by the image quality.

Managed to pick up a Nikon 8800 off eBay for real cheap money about a week ago - was really lucky with this one, as the previous owner had hardy used it. Most of the original equipment was still sealed in plastic bags! Anyways, just playing around, shooting all sorts of random stuff and am just blown away with the level of detail. I guess that's what happens when you've 8 megapixels and a 10x optical zoom to play with :-) This little beauty is going to be well used over the next few weeks, especially as we're going to be off in Madagascar for most of April. Prepare for a thousand pictures of limeurs and other such indigenous creatures.
