25/02/2004; My Digital Hub Expands

I sometimes wonder whether Steve Jobs gets kick-backs from companies that make cell-phones, PDA's, camcorders etc... I mean, he's created this computer that interfaces beautifully with all these little bits of technology, and provides excellent (and free) software that enables you to creatively and technically get the best out of them.

The thing is, all these freebee software goodies makes you want to OWN all their respective digital gadgets... ...and I bought my last one today - a Sony DCR-PC150e DV camcorder. Got it from one of those cheap warehouse type places that knocks 'em out for 25% less. I love all this stuff. Sure it's gadgets and technology, but it's also gives me a lot of control over stuff that I wouldn't have even dreamed about a few years ago. And I have Apple to thank / curse for it. Bastards make such great software it makes you want to use it more and more. And it costs a fortune! Still, i love the idea I can record, mix and produce my own music. I love the fact that I can record, composite and edit my own DV footage and digital stills. And the fact we can burn promotional CD's and DVD's is just amazing. Right, corporate ass-kissing over.
